The TSunami warning

Yesterday at playa Herradura near my office... Kevin treated me to mothers day lunch. Arroz con Camerons. Rice with Shrimp.. so delicious!
Woke up to a beautiful Sunny day.. hot again.
Last night was if you have not heard a warning of a Tsunami here in Jaco.
About eight o'clock, I was having dinner with a new American I met, at this cool Italian restaurant in Amapola. The food was Devine no lie.. beautiful presentation and the taste was so authentic Italian. While we were laughing, drinking a glass of wine with other friends. The general manager came up and told us there was a Tsunami warning that all of the beach areas were being evacuated.
I was not afraid... I didn't know why?
The place was ramped with people running, cars buzzing through town. all the Taxis left with people full inside. All the roadways were packed.. police everywhere... I help rescued a couple of people who needed rides to the mountain side, then I searched for Clint, he was not found I knew he was going to the Jungle bar to wait for his friend , so I drove down town. It was dark not a soul around the whole town was just about empty. When I saw only him walking down the road. I made him get in the car and drove to higher ground above the sea near Playa Hermosa at the tallest point which was about three stories. I figured that would be high enough should a big wave come... We waited and I anticipated running should I see it coming to the mountain, climbing a tree. But honestly I had no fear??? so weird I am.
Funny Clint, John and I all felt the same way.. I didn't think it was going to happen.
We watched the sea, at moments it was loud, then quiet... then very loud then quiet... but the time past for it to hit and I knew that it was only a scare.
The whole town was shook up, everyone I knew ran to the mountains near by.
We did have a slight earthquake a few days ago and it shook my walls in the apartment. Clint was scared.. I have been through allot of earthquakes so I was not.
But I lived and I am still here to work, enjoy and have a decent life in Costa Rica.
This weekend is a big Surf competition tripple crown world competition. So I am sure the town is going to be full of people.
I plan on watching at least one of the day of the contest.
Today I am working on a plan for new client...he is difficult to get intouch with. I have been trying for five weeks.. LET IT BE THIS WEEK that he says yes!
I plan on Taking photos of the beach and the contest... maybe one of me too?

Better day today

Although yesterday I was a little upset, today is a better day.

The sun is out, the wind is blowing.. its hot and I can hear drums in the back

ground. The children are practicing for the parade.

I got an email from Jordan telling me Happy Mothers day as Tomorrow here is mothers day in Costa Rica. Everything is closed and people celebrate with there families.

I missed the Mothers day in the states, Christmas, My Birthday. So to sum it up I have not celebrated much at all here. I do miss that.. I was thinking of dropping by one of my friends house today and asking if there making a party for Mothers day just so I can attend and help, and share in the fun. I do not want to be alone.

Clint is going to leave in a week, so I will be in the house now alone again. It has been raining allot so you can get out much. I spent Sunday with him on the beach laying out for a couple of hours... then this huge storm came it was huge the waves were gigantic! Many many Surfers came out, we were caught under palm trees, and took cover under a small rancho,( palm covered umbrella in one hotel) I had to sit up under the table to avoid getting all soaked.

We talked and watched the surfers for about an hour until, the storm blew off a bit.

I found out yesterday, there is a triple crown competition this weekend at the Best Western in town for Surfing so that must have been people who love to surf, and those who were practicing.

I am sure were going its three days on the beach...so that should be interesting and fun! not to mention the tan!!!!

I enjoy the sun, I read the other day the sun cures many things not just physically but mentally too. It has the power to heal many things. I want healing in every area.. The power of the sun!!!

Today is not much work we still have a few things in Esterillos to complete.

We are working on a new landscape project, and I have to get a business plan for the Martini bar I want to open here in my office... changing to that!

Anyway here is Julian, hes my doll! tomorrow I will have photos of Memonies, and other big fruits that are in season here, Clint and I eat ourselves sick with them.

Back home in Costa Rica

I am very happy to be back, the weather was too much for me.. and people too. I enjoy a simpler life here, although just for the record.

A Blog is a Blog... its about the person, self absorbed or not.. its the person them self and the people surrounding them, there daily habits, goings on or off.
Swill if it will and inspiration sometimes to others I do not claim to be perfect.
Take it or leave it its my Blog. I feel if your offended by the thoughts I have and I write honestly about it... then please don't read on and do not continue to read. You all have a right to your own opinion.

About the fat comment, I know your reading it must be a family member or someone who thinks there family. Yes I was fat almost my whole life... I battled with the fat regardless of how little I ate and how hard I worked out. I had three surgeries which left horrible scars and bad bad sagging enormous amounts of skin. I wanted this surgery for years.

Do not put me down for my ability to finally do it and or my happiness about it. It has inspired me to be more in control of how much I eat. I have lost more weight than ever. I am feeling very good about my body and my mind. I will not allow someone who does not have the balls to tell me who they are when they slam me to take me to a downer over my conquest of weight!
When I was a heavy set girl, woman... I was depressed seeing other people who were extremely over weight. I had been teased, made fun of, and cruelty was put upon me for MANY MANY YEARS about it I hated me especially me and... now I am sad for them and it makes me understand why some people have the problem. You can do something about it... no matter what it is there is a solution.

This is true of all things there are solutions! Troubles do not follow you they exist in our imperfect world. If you have no troubles you are a liar... everyone has some sort of problem. I am just not afraid to talk about mine or share them. Maybe it helps someone... maybe it makes me see clearly on how to solve them? or maybe its a cathartic way to to air them and be free of them? Who is to judge, lest you be god? I have troubles but honestly, I came to Costa Rica for a freshening and It has happened! I feel better than ever... I look better than ever.. and I really feel sorry for those of you who get pleasure in saying things that are basically mean.

Yes I do not like screaming kids, I suppose everyone is ok with sitting next to this except me? if so oh well its my flaw. I do not like hyped up screaming kids. Not even my own when they screamed. I was very upset and tried to make them be quiet.

As far as being mean to my son and his girlfriend? Who are you that you think you know so much about me? Identify yourself..

This is all really a part of my life here, the Blog was intended for those who actually know me little and my family to keep up with what i am doing.

But the family rarely writes, or tries to keep in touch. Now only a few of the people I know in the USA keep in touch.

I have made a choice to be here health wise, and mentally and I am doing just fine. I feel sad at moments missing my children, but When I left this last time. I knew that things really do not change unless you make them change. I made a change...if they come and visit GREAT! I worked hard my whole life supporting them with no help. I did the best I could for them... running a business and raising two boys. That tough situation made me who I am. I can change my thoughts, I can change my form of conversation and I can change how I speak to people nice or mean... I can change my body and my mind, but the person that came from having to struggle her whole life basically on her own will not change the strong self based person she is.

My world is small, I have no family here, I have Two sons, who we barely communicate. I have two sisters who I rarely talk to not of my doing. Their choice.. to busy and maybe jealous too? I have a brother who doesn't communicate with hardly any of us. That is it... I do not have a lover or a male friend, or a boyfriend or husband/ mate so my writing is about my feelings and my thoughts.

I have a complicated personality I know this.. my inner self is frustrated at times with the outer. NORMAL!
Aside from all this rot...

I love Costa Rica with its pitfalls, robbery, poverty and ICE controlling everything. But there is so much more than these few bad situations. I feel alive here, the people are friendly. the men are help full, the women are beautiful, the food is clean. The jungle the mountains the birds, the trees the flowers, the scenery is incredible. The beaches are amazing. And for me that is all that it takes. YES it would be nice to have my family here... but obviously its not a priority to visit. Maybe some day they will?

Until then I continue to write my blog, If your offended DON'T READ.!

Tomorrow I have great photos of things from here and my grandson who is the most adorable ever... sweet personality gentle spirit, and pretty eyes.I pray god takes care of him.

Here in the Cold DrearyVancouver Washington

Left on Weds, to stay in a hotel there in San Jose so I could Fly out on Thursday early am.
I made it just in time I had five minutes to board at 7:00. The flight was full and I had to sit next to two small children and mom who was feeding them skittles at that early morning hour.. what was she thinking? these kids were so hyped up and screaming allot on this flight. After about 15 minutes the mom could see I was annoyed with their behaviour she called the attendant over, ( I had already asked if I could be moved) and asked if there was another place where they could be alone? he told me there was a seat in the back and it was open. So I moved and had some peace for a while. I didn't sleep I just thought and looked out the window as these two heavy set girls from Texas jabbered and laughed the whole flight.

In Houston, it was a four hour layover. I had a hard time getting my huge trunk off the carousel, it almost knocked me over and not one man offered help. Different from Costa Rica, some one would have jumped in and helped. I was a little offended honestly .. It was evident I was struggling and I am serious it almost knocked me over but not one person offered a hand.

I stayed for four hours, drank a couple of Caparinia's and talked to a couple of people.

The flight to Portland was fun, I sat in the wrong seat purposely, because this cute woman was sitting in the corner of the very back of the plane. I sat on the aisle, then this nice man came and said I had his seat... I moved over next to her then told them we were a team. Then another guy came and said we were in his seat but I didn't move they placed in in another.. I said to these guys really what does it matter where you sit were all going to the same place, and besides all the seats are the same!!! we had the best time. We all talked and laughed and Henry the man next to me had a Ball with the two of us.

Nice time on the plane, Brandon And Sara picked me up outside the airport after I got all my luggage which was only a carry on and a trunk.

Friday we landscaped the back yard for the party.. Brandon and I, gravel, plants bark dust, laid a stone bench all around a patio area and got a fire pit. I screwed lattice to the bottom of the deck while Sara later shoveled rock around the edges.

Sat I went to Jazzercise it was fun I miss it so much I WISH WE HAD IT IN COSTA RICA.. then I went to shop, but I was getting really sick. I didn't feel good when I left and the plane air only made me more ill. I have been coughing and hacking and weasing. It is so Cold here it feels like fall.. Not summer at all.
So Yeah I got sick and spent the afternoon yesterday in Kelsey's bed for about two hours sleeping.I got up and went to the store to buy somethings to complete my recipes for the dessert I wanted to make and side dish.

Everyone showed up early, it was kinda cool out we had the fire pit going it was a nice party. But mostly all the people left early.
Some spent the night, and lots of kids were here about 8. It was a bit wild in the morning.
I am tired, I think today we were suppose to go out on the boat, but I may go and see my other son and grandson.
There is no real communication between the two, its a strained situation because of the women. Its a long story.... So I have to be careful about what I say to one and the other. I love my sons both, and its hard for me to be divided.

BUT..other than this boring story I am ok, and know for sure I will never live here again. I like my hot climate, the dark skinned people.. the clean food. (I have had a stomach ache since arrive in the states.) The beach... I miss my children, but this is so much better for my mind and heart. At least this time Brandon and I have talked some.. more than the last. I think he is getting use to the idea that I live so far. He has been sweet.

I want them to come and visit maybe at Christmas? that would be fun!

I FORGOT I HAVE A BLOG LOL

I AM NOT KIDDIN I FORGOT I HAVE A BLOG I have been so busy trying to get my passport, that was lost or stolen, working on Christians visa, the house and trying to get new business that I forgot I do this ! oh my god! now I am sitting in a little quaint hotel, in Aluejuela Costa Rica Called hotel Casa Antigua. Its old house on a side street across from the airport. It is owned by a young couple in there thirties. She is Colombian and beautiful, he is tico and very nice. Christian and I found it after our day long trip here to get my passport buy some things for me to take back and pick up some Costa Rican souvenirs. I told him to drive by the airport and to find me a place we did, Its very cute, needs some work but there new owners, so I know in time it may be a really cool place to stay. I managed to get my ticket to go to the USA and I am flying out tomorrow morning for Portland Oregon. I return to Costa Rica on Thursday of the following week.

We have been working on the house in Esterillos it is really turning out cute. Its all blue white and brown, I added brown touches and it is looking great!! Its cool Sunday we spent the day on the beach in front of the house. I had date with a new friend Jorge. A nother young Tico who manages a hotel restaurant not far from Eterillos. He is handsome, I met him some months back but last week he asked me out. I said sure.. but I know already nothing will become of it. I think he has a girlfriend and just likes the Idea of being with an older woman.

We had a nice time, Clint had a friend with him as well. We all had dinner on the beach, enjoyed the full moon and drove home in the rain.

I have gone to San Jose Twice in the past week to obtain cosa's (things)for the home.

I have a couple nice dates with different guys but nothing interesting at all.

I saw Milo last week he came to Jaco to visit me. It was very nice we talked laughed and had some margaritas and dinner at the Jaco Taco. I nice new Mexican restaurant here on the beach.

I saw Ron my good friend who may be helping me turn my office in a high end Vip bar soon. We are working on the Ideas and the money.
I think its going to work!

Tomorrow I see my son Brandon and Sara, Kelsey their daughter and JARVUS their bull dog. hes nuts but I love him.. I am spending a week in Portland for visiting, shopping and rekindling love I hope for my family.

Yesterday back tracking now... I started out the morning early I picked up Christian and he and I did the bank thing, got the supplies order our breakfast to go, and drove out with Clint to the beach In Esterillos.. We all sat on the private beach watched the waves and ate our breakfast in the early morning cool, the beaches are very hot here so that was pleasant early in the morning.
We did as much as we could in the house and left for town around 2:00. I had to go obtain a few more things for the job then I went and got a pedicure and manicure. Later I went to say by to Rosie at the coffee shop. I saw Miguelitto he had a friend with him and convinced me to go the jungle bar for dancing. I did for three hours, i still had work clothes on. I saw many people I knew including Christian.. ha! of course! scouting out women.. as usual.

I went home late around 1:00, got up at six and got ready for my trip. We left town around 10:00 and I finally got my passport at the last minute.

So now here I am just waiting for the night to end so I can fly away in the morning. I really do not miss Portland but I do look forward to some convenient shopping and fun with my kids...

Hope to go to the USA

Raining allot right now, not cold at all but raining. I am sitting in Rosie's waiting to talk to Brandon on the video chat. The past week was slow again, we did book a house to the whole thing its on the beach so that is going to be a very laid back nice job, because we have the leisure to just wonder out front to the waves for a while and return to putting the house together! how nice to have that luxury.

I beached it twice this week so the tan is looking good not like magda!! but good. I am enjoying wearing a bathing suit for once in my life.
Sunday was nice quiet peace full totally Pura Vida. I watched surfers most of the day, unless the rest I laid in the sun and just basked.. it was great.

Yesterday a new client I met some time ago actually it was three guys from LA California, and they purchased homes here in Esterillos. We were suppose to get together and discuss the homes and the design but there is a delay in the schedule of completion. So it looks like Oct till I get to plunge into that. That was disappointing, but at least some hope for the future travajo! ( work)

Nothing on the love front but I sure do get allot more attention now, Clint gets totally disgusted with the smiles, complements, and whistles.. not to mention linda, guapa, Rrrrrrrrrrrrrica, and more.. it is interesting. The Men here are not oppressed about looking smiling and saying what they feel. Something very different from the USA. I found that the men would hardly give you a glance, people are afraid to look at you especially in the eyes. But here is not the case.. Really its almost shocking to those who are not use to it. Never boring I can tell you that much.
But other than the Lear's, and looks nothing good yet.

I am hoping to go the USA I want to see the kids and just hang out with a couple of my friends. But we will see what happens... Work is not that great the timing seems to be wrong...

Yesterday was a bit of a nasty day. The night before I was invited out for a date so I though with an X professional Hockey player to the los Suenos, here in Herradura. I left work around 5:00 rested for a while and waited for him to call. when he did I left to meet him there at the los suenos. We had a glass of wine and I thought perhaps then dinner, he said dinner and drinks and dancing perhaps. He then told me he like to Gamble.I explain that I had no desire nor was I interested in gambling. He wanted to go. I went politely with him, he began with THOUSAND DOLLARS.

This continued for hours until I got so sick to myself thinking about the money he is throwing around and how at this moment I am so short of money. That the thought of him being so carefree about his addiction, on the opposite hand is me worrying about how rents are getting paid and just the idea of eating!!! It made me sick to see him spend thousands and thousands. Finally after another glass of wine and no food I was physically sick too. I asked him if we could leave and get something to eat. Instead of saying yes he said no I am winning right now and I don't want to go. Wait baby wait.. I waited for like 15 minutes more until I could not stand up. I said I need to go I have to eat something. He walked out to my car and said see you later waved.. no hug nothing simply walked off.

I drove home angry and sad wondering what the hell????

I tried to find something open to get food there was nothing open. I went home ate a piece of bread and butter...( about all I have in the house) and ate it and then puked! I was a mess.. sad and hungry and sick from two glasses of wine.

That is why yesterday was just horrible. I was so angry with Cristhian from the following day not completing his list of work and angry at the guy for spending all that money frivolously in front of me... and well just angry!!!

We drove to Esterillos to pick up keys for a house I am doing there on the beach.. all the way there all I could do was think about the dude spending... and Cristhian being a jerk.

Frustrated, worried, all that crap!!! Then I said I need to eat I remembered no eating the day before the two wines the bread... god I needed to eat. We stopped and ate in Esterillos at a little soda near the beach Oh my god it was like 12 dollars for breakfast.. I croaked. Here breakfast runs at the most two dollars... and I couldn't eat It tasted horrible to me.

A little was enough.

Later in the day we had a good day I found out the house in Esterillos is building another house for us to do, then I received an email from two men I met here about 10 months ago and they are coming on the weekend and asked me to do their new house also in Esterillos.!! so now we have two houses to do in the same area.

NOW IF THEY WILL JUST DEPOSIT!!!! lol what a life I swear up and down in and out like the waves that pound the beach here... so similar. Low tides and high tides.

Just if I can learn how to ride the waves and contol... ya think?

We later went and had a hamburger let me say the hamburgers here are called hamburgesa. And trust me there nothing like ours in the states. NOT GOOD but this one hit the spot for me I was needing a hamburger bad.. they put ham and tomato, lettuce and cheese, plus the little hamburger.

We all had a hamburger and fries, Clint ate mine and then we came back to the office.

Then Clint and I went to the beach, here in Herradura watched the sunset it was beautiful! we talked and rested I felt much better by the end of the day. We went home I laid on my leather sofa and that was all she wrote... Down for the night. Woke up today rather late but the day is mellow nothing going on and nothing to said about the houses or deposits. We just talked to Manolo the Spaniard that has a project that is all about pirates.. yes it has gone through now I need to pray that god allows us to be a part of huge almost Disney project in Panama!!!! He promised us that I would be one of the designers for this city that is all about the pirates of the Caribbean. A whole city that is about that... the roads are stones the ships are parked in the bay... the houses are skulls, and no cars allowed only foot, horses, and carts. Its a pirate experience!! sounds nuts but I will go if they allow us to be a part!!!

Cristhian on the left and Jay on the right

Approaching Montezuma

This is Phillip and I on the boat

This is the structure that Cristhian help build at the turtle reserve

A good week, no money coming in but a very good week.

It began with a bid on a new house in Los Suenos, 7 am we were told to be there but the architect didn't show till around 8:00. Then on Weds, Cristhian and I went back up to Masatal to get photos of new property. On that is on a hill top over looking all the national park. WOW incredible!! I just want some property bad. This one is very cheap, really spectacular and in a few years with Cangreja being so young as a national park, it should be worth allot more in about five years.

If it was possible for me to purchase this one, I would and make a bed and breakfast or a spa or something ecological for the meer fact that Tourist could enjoy the views and be so close to nature. I should have photos in a day on the net of the property. We enjoyed the day ate at his cousins little restaurant, and came back down the mountain. Only after his uncle got us three pineapples from the field, and also got me a full Branch of orchids off an old tree. The got a big branch and pounded on the branch above that had the orchids growing on untill it fell down all in one piece.

He also dug other plants for me to plant in our office garden. It was fun I enjoyed that day much!

I was in a very bad frame of mind before that drive, then later coming home was so much better.

Rosie messaged me saying come to the cafe and celebrate one of her employees leaving, Henry, he looks amazing like Enrique Englesias!! I mean just like him.

We all went the party was in the front of the cafe in the street. We had a nice time then later we all went to the jungle bar to dance merange, salsa and cumbia.

The following day not much work here.. we hung out made mails and called people but nothing coming up.

I decided to get away over the weekend, someone told me about a place across the bay called Montezuma.. So I called my friend at the Travel agency and she got me cheap tickets. The hotel was $20.00 the whole trip cost me $58.00.

I had a great time you take a small boat across the bay its about two hours in the sea. It is a small surf town but it is adorable. Clean small the best food I have had so far in Costa Rica! No lie it was the best food ever... I ate mahi mahi and later in the evening a salad with fresh tuna avocado, and apples. Cristhian went with me, we met up with some guys from Canada, they were from Montreal, so we stayed with them and whole time. We went in the evening first to the beach and swam. I watched it was too dark, I won't got in the sea after dark.. to many Manta rays. Then we went to a cool restauarnt called Cocolores.. cute Romantic and great food.

They were a gay couple, we had a great time with them!! but I didn't have any cards to let them know my phone so I hope they read this and contact me when they come back through to Manuel Antonio! Jay and Phillip were there names they both were very handsome, and nice.

Later we danced at a club there, then were invited to a beach party where they played trance music.. I was not amuzed but I listened and danced a little. They guys including Cristhian loved it. How weird I though Techno music on a secluded area on a beach in Costa Rica? Ok whatever!!!

The next morning we had to catch the little boat back at nine thirty, so I got up and then work up all the rest and we ate breakfast at a local Soda. What a cool little town so clean and quaint. beautiful churches and hotels not modern, old world cheap... fun! lots of plantings of all the tropical plants and it was done well. The temperature was much milder than Jaco and Herradura. It was great! The ride back was rough, I was soaked all the way.. And so was he.

Got home about 11:30 and went home showered and decided to back to the beach here.. butit was so cold and windy Clint and I just came back home.

I went to bed early, to get up today to start the week again with the hope of good jobs coming! I want to visit the USA so I hope our work picks up soon.

Wednesday, July 04, 2007

I left the office yesterday half the day. We had gone to put out brochures and try to drum up business. It was so boring, not a soul around not a phone call nothing.

This mall is really dead here. I am realizing that the economy in the states is suffering it is directly affecting our work.
I really want to turn this place into a bar. It has all the right quality's of a high end VIP Lounge. Everyone that comes in this places thinks it is.
I have a friend that believes it should be, and he and I will get together here in a couple of weeks and try to put our heads together on how to convert it and make it happen.
I will move the office to a new location, I already have an offer for free. But to loose what I put into this place is a shame. It is not because were not good, or not advertising or trying its because, at this point now there are more than five services in the same area that do similar work.
But we are one of the only ones that does landscape so that part is opening up a little.
I feel worried, but nothing like the way I use to be in the States. I worried so much about things that is would make me physically and mentally ill.
Here for some reason, I know that I am in Gods hands, and I hope and have faith that something will come. I try my best to be strong and not break. I have moments of distress, and sometimes shed a tear or two. But I snap out of it and know that I came here alone with very little, and realize I have done much even in this short time.

I really hope that the bar goes through, It is a good way to retrieve the money I have invested in this place. There is one thing I know for sure in life you can depend on and its change. So I guess maybe I am going to have to go through yet another change in my life in order to succeed here.

Yesterday afternoon I spent on the beach lying in the sand and watching the surfers, it was around 4:00. The clouds had covered the sky no sun was shinning but it was warm and nice for resting and contemplating action on my life.
Clint and another friend of mine Ed, went for a long walk on the beach. The beach was full, lots of people. Ya know its kinda nice in a way that you can just do this and not feel guilty about it.
I think it was healthy for me to just get away for a moment and not be so in drenched with the frustration and worry.

Later Ed, Clint and I ate on another beach in Herradura. I had the entire fish with a little rice and veggies, Clint had Arroz con Camerones, and So did Ed.
After we had cafficitos, that is what they call a little coffee with Cafe Rica, its a liqueur that is like Kahlua. Made here though. Just a little in it makes it sweet and yummy.
I went home to lay on the sofa and watch a stupid episode of Hugh Hefner's DUMB BLOND BIMBOS!! god I am sorry but he is hideous! I watched it but was aggravated watching. You know its only status qou.

I slept well no elephants tromping last night. We have people staying in the house above us watching it for the owners. They are having a baby in San Jose and will return with the baby soon I PRAY. These people make so much noise, it literally sounds like heards of elephants.
We picked up Cristhian, tried to get a meeting with this architect that told me yesterday we would meet, but nothing yet.
And Called a couple of people for appointments.
TOday is the fourth of July, they do not celebrate here but, I think tonight is fireworks at one of the hotels. I am going to Roises then to the hotels to see who? then I may just go out with Rosie after. She is so bored lately too.
She called me and messaged me last night, begged me to come down and keep her company but I was tired and felt the body and mind needed to sleep.
So Tonight I will go!
Nothing exciting sorry people! Wish there was some juicy something I could write.. but then again I have children and well I gotta keep it decent!
HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY!

The Fiesta this weekend, Concerts, Bulls, Horse parades and three story bars.
Dancing with my friend Kevin..

The past week was busy, trying to get new work. We have about four proposals out. One nice one at Los Suenos, that I really hope we get it, it will be working with an architect that has many projects.
Its been a tough month. Not much work and having two employees to support and all the expenses has taking a little toll on my body face and mind.
Although I keep the faith that something good is coming. I try very hard to make sure were working on some sort of bid, so that work is coming.
We have not heard from Villa Montana it is a project I been shooting for for months now. We had four interviews, I felt for sure we were in there.. I need to call today!
Other than that its been allot of fiesta.. this time of year is nothing but that.
Last Monday for example, Cristhian and I went to Guarumal, looked at property to sell and took photos. Its large piece of property 25 hectors, with rivers running through it and rolling hills, also in Santa Rosa we have one that is 90 hectors with rolling hills, mountains, lots of beautiful trees. Then later we went to a chocolate farm called Iguana chocolate near by and visited with the people who run this place. We had hot fresh chocolate, but HELL IT WAS HUMID AND HOT AND well it should have been cold. It was delicious though!!! We talked with volunteers, and ate some freshly made chocolate with bananas and some with pineapple.
The volunteers were all girls from the northwest, and mid west.
Interesting??? a little hippish
Later they invited us for a beer of course... seems this is the nature of country. We ended up being up there for hours.. it was fun but tiring.
Then the rest of the week was hard work.
The weekend was filled with the fiesta, what more can I say.
I miss blogging I been so caught up in work and fiesta. I need to get back into it and give details of what is really going on in my life.
I miss the kids allot, even though I been occupied I miss them. I had a bad incident again someone stole my passport so I am waiting on a call from the embassy to see what I have to do to get another one.
I want badly to go visit, but money is tight and now no Passport.
By 'Ohala it happens!
No love interests, no new friends, but I did visit with Eida this weekend and went with her to the Topi, the horse parade in town. The girls were a part of it and I also saw one of my clients in it so that was nice.
Later I went to Rosie's and hung out, it rained really hard she went to hip hop classes I wanted to go but no money. so I waited and hung out at her place. No people at all were around. This weekend was a zoo so many people that you could not walk. People from all over the country came.
Not many Americans.
So last night was dead.
I went to bed early only to be awaken by noise by the pool it sounded like water plugged up in some tube? it was loud and anoying. Then the raving mad dogs around the corner began barking and didn't stop for the longest time.
I did not not rest well.
Today is mostly working on bids and emails.Cristhian is hung over bad he partied all day total weekend and didn't come home till like 6 in the morning both nights. So hes not working to much mostly sitting and looking at plant books Clint went out too, came in late also, I came home the only night I
went out at 2:30 but the parties here go on till five or six.
Well enough for now be back soon!

OPPS I forgot to Blog

God I been trying so hard to get jobs that I have forgotten to blog all week!

It started last week, with the house with the hill that fell down. They called they didn't like the sod, it was because there was none to found in the whole country... we had to buy from two different sources and it was mature, and baby mix... so it looked funny like a patch work quilt. We went up there the three of us and pulled up all the sod and repaired and worked the garden over again. Frankly I know it was ok its normal till plants and grass settle in and begin to grow but clients think things stay the same size and have no clue that here things grow at a rate that is astounding.
But they still owe the balance so... I need to make them happy we worked all day in the hot blazing sun.. I think I got a cold from sweating so much and being dehydrated... We went later to Bonnie's and Jorge's house in Esterillos.. there Neighbor wants me to do the interior design on there beach house.

It was about 3:30, I checked it out, then went and talk to them with Clint and Cristhian. They invited us for beers. The house sits right on the beach. A small metal roof Rancho. ITs very cute. They are selling it for 350 thousand. It has two baths and Two bedrooms.. I think its allot but they say its hard to find houses there on the beach.

Its cute I like it, reminded me of a friend of Mine Tina her style crazy and lots of color. Monkeys come and eat there and there are lots of Parrots and toucans.

It all just ran together after that day.. I have so much to blog about! We stayed with them for about three hours, came back ate and I think crashed. I was so tired. I have to run right now and do a propsal for a castle house in Los Suenos, they own a winery. I hope that we begin work with this archtect. She is referring us now and It will be a good relationship should we rock there world with our designs! BE BACK LATER

The weekend

IT started on Friday, we were canvasing most of the day while Clint took the day off. Went to the beach and hung out. It was fine with me. Nothing going on and I couldn't see paying him to do absolutely nothing.

I manage to talk to many different people involved with projects here in town. I hope that one or two decide to us for for there projects, later in the afternoon. Cristhian Drove me to San Jose, It was necessary, I had a little problem with my incision, where the drain tube was. I was worried, it had not healed over and its been over a month now. So Cristhian was concerned and said he would take me to the doc.

We went the Puriscal way, it was so quiet no traffic, peacefull, beautiful.. the views are so awesome.
Land as far as the eye can see, rolling mountains covered with trees, jungle and nature. GREEN GREEN GREEn.. Valleys mui lindo...( really pretty).

We arrived at the docs, he had patients and so I had to wait almost an hour for him to check me out.
I was wearing a pretty brown an pink longer dress and brown heels the hair was all down and straight. A little sohpisticated for COSTA RICA but I like that some times. But When doc saw me his face was full with a smile and kissed me twice. He said WOW Marianna you look so good... How nice but ya know he says that to all his patients!! but he is great really I love him.
I took me disrobed me and checked out the huge incision. Its all healing well except for three small areas. He said it was normal for that to be the way it is, and if I didn't like it after it healed up he could go back and cut it and reshape the whole so its small. It is covered by clothing so I guess its not a big deal, but with out clothes??? OMG! Deal with that if that happens I suppose?
We left and went to the Escazu and had dinner at a great Italian Resturant called Tre Fatelli.

We actually had a good conversation, and felt very confortable in the moment.
The food was great the martinis were excellent.
We began back for Jaco, He decided it would be good to go his way back Country roads, lots of rain mud... well we had a flat and had to fix it in the middle of the jungle, but he manage to limp it a bar of all things that he knew all the people and they helped.
We did not rolled in till after 11:00, I was tied, He decided to go out and party, which Clint and his friend were out too. So to bed I went and rested.
The next day, I did not work. I did all sorts of things but not work... I went out on Sat and had a great time. I had my own fan club it seemed like... Guys taking photos of me dancing all around me and with me three to four at a time Wow I felt like a queen and they called me that Reina!! it was fun only dancing. Till my clothes were dripping wet, the hair too... that seemed to attract more people WOW I am not kidding this was weird. It felt like paparazzi were there. Lots of flashes and a crowd... FUN!
Sunday was great... slept in till ten. First time in ages... Got up ate and went to the beach. For the first time in Years I wore my first bikini!! I was shocked and embarrased, not to mention nervious about wearing that...
But hey I got a little tan on the tummy that hasn't seen light in years!~

I am so happy about my new body... Can wait to the gym I go this week!!!

Today has been great... we had four inquieries about work very serious ones and had a yes from a previous client for more work!! I believe... And I hope that all turns around for all of us.
I thank god for my life, my friends... I am a generous soul, I know.. I appreciate the comments from my readers, and my friends thank you for your concern. The best I can say is pray for me... and believe that when you do good for others, it is good for the spirit and the soul. Come and visit me those of you who write. I would love to meet you.
Thank you readiing and I just hope it at times inspires you, or encourages you

Finally got the interview in Punta Mala

It took a few days but I finally got the interview at the reserve. We went pretty early in the morning and I talked to one of the students who is a volunteer. It was about an hour long, and after I felt sad.
Of course everyone knows that the condition of the earth is diminishing, and the seas as well as land are changing rapidly. When He explained to me about the migration, and amount of development that is causing the Tortugas, (turtles) to move to areas less populated and foreign to them, I realized how much they needed help in the clean up of the beaches. The amount of other predators now has increased which mean less of the babies to hatch, also the temp of the sea is causing many diseases that can harm and kill turtles and is harmful to humans as well.

I did feel sad, But happy in other respects that maybe when I do write the article I can articulate it well and make someone who never thought about helping lend a hand in the saving of the sea turtles.

I never dreamed I would be involved with anything so environmental, but now I want to be involved and if I can make a small difference just by lending a hand,by sharing my views and physically helping in clean ups then that is all that matters.

The day was really beautiful out there the mist on the sea was heavy, the waves that day were over 9 to 11 feet. The color of the sky a sorta mint green making the sea almost aqua. We drank aqua de pepa, from the coconuts. This is refreshing, it is also a form of medication for what ever ails you. It helps headaches, kidneys and Hangovers of all things... I love it and now Clint is drinking it daily. His skin is getting so good its helping his ailment too.

Its not milky its clear and semi sweet almost tastes like milk. But really refreshing.
We drove back to pick up Clint who was at one of our clients houses trying to repair some damage, the house that the mountain fell away? yeah well he was there plucking weeds cutting what was left and trying to spruce it up a little for our depressed clients.

We then drove back and changed clothes cleaned up and the two of them Cristhian and Clint at the lasagna I had made the night before. Making a nice lunch of it they enjoyed and rested before we all went to the office.
Things as I said in many other blogs are slow... no work so we take our time and enjoy the less stress and ease of the country. Tranquilla is what they say and I am learning that many times its better to be that and just let things happen.

Then today Cristhian, and yes this is how you spell it I was wrong before it is pronounced CHRIS THIAN and I went to Bejuco and Esterillos oste, and este to look for houses for a friend of mine who is interested in buying near the beach. It was about 8 in the morning the day was pretty we searched and talked and he kidded me allot.
I am finding that he is a real teaser... allot like my son and my dad. I find it amusing, and comfortable. Like family kinda, Clint is always annoyed by him, Especially when we both laugh.

I still have a special place in my heart for him. He is becoming a great friend.

Clint is finding more friends and has his own agenda all the time. He is bored, not working and not doing much. He is a real worrier which at times drives me mad. It is because I am seriously trying to change that part of me and he is constant in the negative mode. REALLY DIFFICULT For me to not say anything about it too so I put it on here LOL.

I have not done a whole lot, because I still recovering. But today I noticed I had more energy and I actually felt like moving the furniture oh boy no!! I didn't but I felt like it.

I am getting lots of complements on my appearance so I guess it is becoming evident that I am trimming down. Always have been so self conscious of the weight and looks thing.

I heard from a girl friend of mine of many years that I have not talked to in almost four years. It was nice to hear from her.

Its raining tonight I was so bored, I was at the house alone with the TV and couldn't stand the Spanish stations any longer so I locked up and came down to Rosies. Not very many people too much rain. So she got on one computer I got on another and here I am .

Tomorrow we will hopefully try to repair some of the garden on the mountain, then later more sales. I been canvasing. While Clint stays at the office. I go talk to real estate companies and pass out brochures and see if there is anything out there that we can get out hands on.

This weekend is a fiesta of the bulls in Heradura I may check it out? if not at the end of the month is a huge fiesta here in Jaco for three days so that should be interesting. I will be sure to take lots of photos and post them.

That is all for today nothing much new, except Jonathan, my Rastafarian computer mai, CUT ALL HIS RASTAS OFF!! I been trying to get him to do that for months and he did it!! now hes so cute!!

No interview yet for the Tortugas!

We tried to work yesterday, but nothing is going on at all. Pretty soon the schools will be out and I am sure that things will pick up around here!
All of us were bored, we had ice cream, then went into town to look around. The town was dead. We decided to go out to playa Hermosa to see if I could get the interview with the administrator of the reserve. Cristhian drove, we dropped Clint off at his friends in Playa Hermosa for a little, while He and went to the reserve. But when we arrived they man was yet again GONE! he had another meeting. We talked to one of the other people involved and he was asking us to help with the organization of the clean up that is duly needed. I believe They are shooting for the 23rd of June. So Help is needed

So we returned, and picked up Clint, stayed on the beach and watched the surfers for a moment then returned to Jaco...
This Whole week I have slept like crazy, Last night almost 13.5 hours??? crazy I fall asleep on the sofa then Clint makes me go to bed. I missed all the fun this week DARN!! I didn't do anything at all all week except Sleep.
But the body needed it and its looking much better. It is shrinking some and I am very pleased with the results of the operation!! All these years I wanted that stuff cut off, never could afford it. I was embarrassed, always by that. Now its gone and Its looking GREAT!! THANK YOU DR. MANTILLA!

Scouting for work, Garbage in the reserve

Black sand beach

Turtle eggs that were rescued prepared nests

The Reserve

We need Help cleaning this up soon!

Yesterday was slow again, I decided mid day to go have lunch at all our favorite place Garribito, and then we rode to Bejuco to see what we could drum up. We got the name of a couple of companies to email and contact so I accomplished what I set out to do. On the way back we stopped by the turtle reserve, because I need to get that interview for print. The ride back to it is long and no pavement. It was rough on the boo boo.. I yelped a couple of times laughed in agony, and almost keeled over once. Christian continued driving Clint in the back yelling all the way! Christan laughing hard making fun of everything. We meet some park guys on the way they told us the admin was not around that they had a big meeting with the community. So we missed the interview, but we got out to see how the reserve was and the condition. HORRIBLE! I was shocked to see that there was more garbage than we picked up before the reserve, Today I have to call the Muni and talk to them about helping again... its bad and dangerous for wild life. The river Toluene that runs about 700 meters south of the persevere dumps all there garbage right into the river and when the storms come it flushes it into the sea. This is bad... I told Clint I wanted to write to the president and see what the country can do to save what is left of what they have? I know its not my country, and I know I am not powerful in anyway but If I can inspire one person to do something about it, and if I can help I will.
We walked around for a little bit, the Sky's were really gray a storm was heading in. I had a moment there that was separate from the turtle experience, Christian showed Clint a rancho he built to Observe the turtles. Well months ago when we were seeing each other regular, he took me there one night, with a bottle of rum and coca cola. We sat cuddled and kissed drank a rum and coke and watched the sun go down. It was very romantic and different. I had never had anyone in my entire life do something like this with me ever... So when we walked up to that place my memory sprang, and I stood for a long time staring, thinking and well having a moment. I had to shake it off and pretend nothing was in my head but it was...
When we got ready to leave Christian had found these seeds that the Ticos feel are good luck I saw he had a handful of them and Clint too. The Hawaiians do the same thing I have a few myself in the house. He also found a little play plastic crab and gave it to me.. told me it is a present.
Then he asked if I wanted Peppa, which is fresh coconut cut from the tree? I said YES because Aqua de peppa is excellent for the kidneys, the body and healing. He got a big pole with saw attached to it there at the reserve and walked to the nearest palm tree and cut off three of them... Then he got a machete and cut the top off so I could drink it. It was an older one, the meat was not soft and gummy it was hard like the type you buy in the states. I prefer the green to yellow ones that are sweet and the flesh is gummy. Those are the best, but I drank it, and he commented saying that wasn't the best...
Then he cut another one for me It was too green so he tossed it and we drove back to Jaco.
I was suffering at this point, My stomach was a little puffy, I had some inflammation. So After dropping off Christian, Clint went to the store and got some Ginger, and ice other things to help me.
He made me green tea with ginger, to bring the inflammation down. He also Ice Packed the stomach.
It worked but I had to do it a couple times. I really couldn't feel the ice that area down low is totally numb. The belly button was really red so I Iced that too.
I heard arguing outside last night, two of the people I knew, there was more across the street. Someone got arrested it was loud..
I went to bed and slept very well, got up around 6:00 went out read the bible today.
Felt I needed some inspiration for my life...
Even though I have someone in my house, he is not always there. He is not my mate or lover... he is gay. He has lots of friends here and he goes out allot so I have been alone. I am again feeling very lonely, I question constantly why Am I ALONE? I am funny, not bad looking, talented, kinda smart... um can cook like a five star chef when I don't burn the bread!( I always forget how long I put it for) its so strange? OK I really do not understand it!! I am feeling like I am just withering inside lately.. Sounds silly but its not. I just want a companion, a helper, a lover, a friend.... even someone that I might be able to fight with now and then! that's kinda fun after!!!
I had a bad night in thoughts, and this morning too.... So I read and it helped lift my spirits a little. No answers but a word that is extremely difficult for the majority of us in any situation. "Trust, patiently wait and hope"
I been waiting for years! yea one of two walk in and out, don't last long and some of the quality of some of the ones that have wandered in an out are really bad..
Hope this changes SOON!
Today is Friday, we don't have much going on again. I have Christian Emailing, Jonathan is trying to find the brochures they sent them to the wrong location , only after the first time cutting them wrong! Clint is making a plant list for a proposal. And I think this afternoon if we get the brochures were going out and soliciting all of us!!
Other than that things are quiet.
I heard From my friend in Portland again Jon.. hes so funny! I am happy that old friends still stay in contact, Kelly from the Heathman lodge repsonded to an email I sent here and now is writting its cool!

Thursday, June 07, 2007

Yesterday was a later day, didn't get ready till almost ten. We came to the office and hung out and prepared for a meeting in the afternoon. Clint stayed with me, while Christian took the car washed it, ran around town doing some errands. We made a presentation board for Villa Montana another condo project that will have rock waterfall pools four of them, a river that runs across the top of the condo complex. Then a water fall wall at the bottom of the whole building. Its pretty extensive, and will be allot of work. But Its going to be really cool!
We did well in the meeting. I believe its our job.
After We dropped off Christian at his house, Clint and Went down to the beach at the Boheio. to watch the Sunset. We had a drink and watched the people, the power went off a couple of times, so we sat in the dark and just enjoyed.
Later returned to the house... I knocked out four hours on the sofa, Clint milled around ate a bunch as usual... then we watched American Idol.. Wow that girl Melinda ugh! but what a voice!!! She was very dynamic. Stayed up for a while then went to sleep.
I been sleeping so well at nights, this is great. So that the body heals and I can get back to wild woman I am!

We wanted to go and solicit today our brochures are still not done, actually they were but they cut them all wrong all 500 of them.. TONTOS!! So were waiting once again it will be about 5 weeks now.

Still drinking green tea, I NEED COFFEE I have been drinking coffee since I was little and it is really something I love. So this is a little hard. But its better I don't I tried a little yesterday and wow it began to aggravate again so nooooooooo.

Here is my information for emails, if you are interested in seeing the turtles in July lay eggs and hatch. You can either help or just observe. Hotels, transportation, events, places to see aside from that all provided by us at ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!

The turtle reserve beach clean up

This morning was started at 5:45, no coffee.. I am trying to stay away from it for a couple of days. It is agitating my incision, so no coffee at all.
I sat outside and heard lots of Macaws screaming in the trees in the early morning hours. I listen to the birds and drank some green tea. Soon was getting ready for the morning.
Yesterday I had an email from the chamber that they were having a Clean up day at Playa Hermosa for the Turtle reserve. I had written and article earlier for one of the publications about the beach and how I believe that teaching the children to clean up and what not to do to the beaches is the way to change the horrible situation of garbage that is found every where. The chamber and I are on the same page. In receiving this mail yesterday, I suggested to the guys here that we all go very early to the clean up and join in with the children to clean the beaches for the Turtles and people, and plant trees in areas that are needed.

We all left around 7:30 and rode to Hermosa where we met up with lots of volunteers for the very first time in that area ever.
They had a canopy, water, gloves, bags, and food for everyone.
I took the first small group, Clint on the other side with a group and Christian at the gate letting cars in.
But there was more than just us.. It was warm the weather was perfect and I was happy to be doing something good and knowing that possibly I could be helping a situation that in the future may not be here unless more of us do this.
The day of environment appreciation, was a good one!!
Later I had another group who were really good little workers. We cleaned for about two hours together, I finally saw Christian get in and help along with tons of other people. I think we may have had about 250 children or more and many adults.
The turtle reserve is really beautiful, the sands are black and the beaches are endless the water because of the black sand is dark and intense.

We actually saw a few nest's that had already hatched out a week or so ago, but the real date for there return and nesting is in the late part of June to July. The most part of July is were you see lots of them coming and digging and planting there Eggs in beaches that many ancestors ago used.
The clean up today was the very first one. the administrator, a private individual, now supported by the country, Was so happy and shocked, elated is the word.
When I heard this I knew that what We had done was a very good thing to be involved with for the future of the country.

In the month of June I plan on writing a whole story for two publications on the history, how, and what has happened in the past. The robbery of the eggs, how people sell these for food, pleasure. And all the details of the preserve. Also If anyone is interested you can come and observe for a fee and spend the night or help with the conservation of the turtles here in Hermosa.
Contact me and I will give you all the information, and if you need hotels or anything when you arrive here please email or call us at the office. Here is the mail:
Marianna.love@gmail.com the phone in Costa Rica 506 637-8438

It was good day, came back to find the water off at my place so no shower, and I was full of sand. I changed and tried to clean up best I could to return to the office for a few hours to work on a proposal, Now Clint and Christian and just resting here in the office and I am emailing and now blogging.

A few people came in to tell me they loved my June article in the Jaco guide. I had coffee with one of them another just talked. The two others made me laugh so hard saying I was full of LOVE???? too funny!! Now tonight were going to a concert at The Best Western, and a meeting with the chamber.
We are really trying to be more involved and be aware of how our little city and our beach towns are growing.

Oh I been so gone!

After no mountain nothing now plastic
Before they were finished, with all the mountain and wall

Well on Thurs, we had another disastrous storm which impeded our installation of the grass for the house that is sliding down the hill. The night before I had gone out with Jonathan, my computer Mae, and Christian after work and had a beer, they drank allot. We ate and had good work conversations along with other flavored conversations as well!

Later they convinced me to go the back yard, a young surfer place in Playa Hermosa right on the beach. I thought it would be fun, and essentially it was my first time doing anything. Although I did drink a couple of beers! tried to dance.. it was a little rough, I had jeans on and the pressure on the belly was a bit much.

I wanted to go home after some hours but Christian insisted on staying. Finally I threw a little Marianna Fit and INSISTED THAT WE LEAVE NOW! and he came only to stop and shoot the bull with another person for fifteen minutes, until I marched back over and said HEY COME ON!! LETS GO!!

Well I suffered the next day!! the storm was horrendous, I heard it in my sleep, and knew right then we were foiled again!!

We had ordered some special grass but there is none in the whole country the storm ruined everything and now delaying our installation. Its not just us, its all the people in the industry. We are all suffering .

The lady of the house did not like the grass we got it was temporary in order to preserve what is left of the land, she sent it back saying she did not like it! Well, when the rain kept pouring, my mind and body felt Ill, I was in so much pain. All I could do is pray and lay on the sofa.

Hours, of lying there and worrying... still no ZECATE!( Grass)

Sometimes I wonder all these challenges, and strange situation's That I face here? Why? This job was so simple and going to be beautiful! The guys were all done except the Grass installation, The following night the mountain walls, and all the plants, stone walkways... and more went crashing down. Only a few plants were saved. Now waiting is the game, seeing if they can repair this horrible situation... and who is paying for the replacement of all the work that we did? The architect agreed to pay for all, but I see nothing done, when I finally took the trip today up there, and by the way the road is horrible, even at this stage of healing, I felt pain. We made it to the top and what we saw was totally disheartening.

God help all of us! There was a whole hill near the house before, now there is about three feet in the biggest part and nothing near the pool, in fact it took a small edge of the pool too.

DAMN! what to expect now?
